WHICH IS BEST: AMD VS INTEL




Microprocessor in one of the main micro component in this technological world which regulates the every action of the computer device i.e calculation, processing data, transferring files and data, multitasking and other numerous processes. It is the main component for a device in performing a task, consuming power, assisting battery back up, etc.And in PC there are two existing companies,they are Intel and Amd.

Microprocessor is one of the main micro component in this technological world which regulates the every action of the computer device i.e calculation, processing data, transferring files and data, multitasking and other numerous processes. It is the main component for a device in performing a task, consuming power, assisting battery back up, etc. Now if we plan to buy a new PC or laptop we would be in confusion of selecting the best processor. As of now there are only two leading corporation companies i.e AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) and Intel (Integrated Electronics). 



Intel and Amd are the only two leading companies in the microprocessor producing market.Comparisons were made on their specifications to know which is best.

HISTORY:

Intel corporation was founded by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore in the year 1968 whereas AMD was founded by Jerry Sanders along with his seven colleagues in the year 1969. Initially both the  companies were focused in the production of integrated circuits and other nano components. Later in 1971 Intel introduced the first 4-bit microprocessor (Intel 4004) which received an enormous response from the users. It was soon followed by 8-bit processor (Intel 8008) in 1972.From the year 1970 Intel was seemed to be the best processor producing company. On the other hand AMD remains producing computer chips and lead as a second source manufacturer of computer chips(manufacturing other components). In 1982 IBM founded a personal computer (PC) using Intel microprocessor which used AMD’s second source chip. The agreement between Intel and AMD was ended in 1981.AMD introduced its first flagship (AM 380) in the year 1991.But Intel moved advanced than AMD by producing 16 bit (1978) and 32 bit processor (1985). Later on, AMD in 1999 introduced its first 32-bit processor (Athlon) which was compatible with Microsoft Corporation’s Windows Operating System. By releasing the Athlon processor, AMD became the first company to produce 1-GHz microprocessor which made AMD as a serious competitor in chip market. Later both the companies started to focused in manufacturing microprocessor and Intel stepped front by introducing the first 64-bit processor (Itanium) in the year 2001. And later AMD also introduced its first 64-bit processor (Opteron) in the year 2005 which received a better response than Intel’s flagships. Eventually AMD and Intel grown as the only leading competent companies in the chip market.


PERFORMANCE :


 

Usually Intel comprises meager cores and threads in its flagship than AMD’s flagship, thus it gives a decent performance in multitasking and other numerous processes. While on the other hand AMD uses more cores and threads which result a better performance than Intel. Clock speed (operating speed of a computer) is one of the main features in the processor to conclude the best flagship. Usually both the company provides enough clock speed with relate to its costs, but AMD is the first company to introduce overclocking in which clock speed can be increased than its designed rate, thus it performs much faster than before. Flagships with higher clock speed performs better than the other. So while buying I request the users to compare the clock speed of these two flagships. Regarding heating issues Intel seems to perform better than AMD as it contains less number of cores and threads than AMD. And also regarding battery back up Intel processor supports more than AMD. While booting, the device with AMD processor boots much faster than the Intel processor but regarding booting we can’t decide by this alone, and there are many more hardware supports while booting. Regarding cache memory both the processor provides similar size with relate to its price. So finally we can say in performance wise both the processor perform a decent performance but as for me I can say Intel perform slightly better than AMD if we concern about heating issues and battery back up, but since the technology improves day by day AMD is currently working in reducing dissipation of heat and supports device in battery back up. 

GAMING:

Gaming is a tricky part of choosing a CPU.  Every Intel processor includes on-die integrated graphics, but the performance is not on par with standalone, unique graphics chips or additional graphics cards.

  Meanwhile, most AMD desktop processors lack integrated graphics.  These are called accelerated processing units or APUs.  These chips connect Ryzen CPU cores to Radeon graphics cores in a single dive.  They generally have better graphics capabilities than Intel's internal GPU cores.  So we can say for sure that AMD processor works much better than Intel in gaming.


POWER:


AMD uses more cores, threads, transistors and other nano components in its flagship than the Intel flagships. Usually the size of AMD is also larger than Intel flagship as it comprises more components thus, AMD consumes more power in processing, whereas, Intel flagship consumes only minimum power. Since Intel consumes a minimum power it increases the life of the device by assisting its battery.


PRICE COMPARISON:




Without any doubt we can say certainly that AMD’s flagships are much low in cost than Intel as it is renowned for low budget processor.The table below represents the price comparison between Intel and AMD. As for me I would like to suggest AMD processor as it perform well in gaming as well as in processing, and also developing their architecture, performance in their upcoming new flagships and can be purchased for an affordable price. The only drawback of this flagship is, dissipation of heat but AMD ensured that soon it will resolve this issues.
